  4. Just a thought or two on the Amiga newsgroup idea ...

  6. Basically I don't want Amiga people on the normal mailing
  7. list straight away.

  9. Maybe Johan could set up a BM-AMIGA mailing list and he
  10. could repost any interesting articles or replies to the normal
  11. mailing list, and if after a 3 month probation period &  the Amiga
  12. people seem commited and genuine we could re-unite all
  13. the coders and people in one Bad Mood mailing list ??

  15. Also I will re-write another part of the draft as I'm sure Amiga 
  16. people would be quite interested in how the project has 
  17. developed and from what information and sources.

  19. Also a bit more info on what the DSP actually does within the code
  20. so they can assess the ease of porting.

  22. If I'm right in thinking it won't be possible for the Amiga people to
  23. see the DSP code as it is Dougs & hidden in the depths of his
  24. hard disk ...  (Just in case there is some one familiar with Amiga and
  25. DSP hardware who could easily convert 56001 to '030/040.)

  27. So somehow they would need info on what parts of the code  the 
  28. DSP handled and how the data travels etc. ??

  30. Also another point  would be the Amiga code could be written 
  31.  in different flavours :

  33. A1200 - '020 models then '030,'040 and '060 machines ...

  35. (Is the '020 code fully compatible right through
  36. to running on a '060 chip. Would optimising make a significant 
  37. difference?)

  39. If not there maybe differences for optimsed routines for each type
  40. of CPU ...
  41. Afterall we're only interested in keeping it an '030,'040 and 060 
  42. project, right ?
  43. Therefore it would be best to tell them it won't be possible to
  44. run on a plain A1200 without an '030 card ...

  46. Oh well just a few more thoughts, which I'll put into my second draft
  47. which I'll do later this weekend.

  50. mail me directly if its not worth reposting ...

  52. (MOAN-OF-THE-WEEK: You know, sometimes I can see why people get so annoyed
  53. with
  54. committees having to making suggestions and ammendments and
  55. being too democratic about issues... for this someone should just post
  56. our plans to the various newsgroups and deal with it  through
  57. their own e-mail address to see what the response is ...
  58. BTW I don't have access to newsgroups ...)

  61. on differences between Amiga and Falcon gfx modes that
  62. you posted a while ago (Chunky and planar stuff ...)
  63. (I changed computers but not hard disk so I lost a lot
  64. of BM posts ...)
